Apps not running on your phone? How to troubleshoot and fix?

Along with the technical world's progress, our daily lives are moving at a much faster pace. Now, what would happen if suddenly a very important app on your phone stops working and crashes?

Android App Troubleshoot

As TechyHost suggests these steps will come to your rescue with some free or paid slideshow makers software. Assuming that you are having some trouble with an app on your phone and have come to us looking for a solution, we list below some steps for you to follow to fix the app quickly!

OPTION 1: Clear the cache

As it happens, the cache contains files that are of no use, and the space occupied by the app keeps increasing much as we use the app. This, in turn, increases the space the app takes up, creating a lagging in the launching or use of the app. Clearing the cache is the simplest and easiest way to get a lagging and unresponsive app back on track!

Here are the steps to follow to do this:

  • Go to Settings.
  • In the Settings, you’ll find an option called Apps and Notifications.
  • Under that, you’ll find an option called App Info.
  • After that, click on the app that is not working.
  • Go to Storage and Cache option present among the options.
  • Then, click on Delete Cache.

This generally works in most cases, as the cache takes up space and creates lagging of the app by consuming more background storage. In case this step does not work, follow the next option given below! Do not worry as we have many alternatives for you here.

OPTION 2: Clearing the Data

Now in case, clearing the cache of the app does not work, we have another option, which is, clearing the app's data. Please note that clearing the app's data will erase all the data from the app, including pictures, profiles, and databases. So, choose this option as the last resort if clearing cache does not work.

  • Go to Settings.
  • In the Settings, you’ll find an option called Apps and Notifications.
  • Under that, you’ll find an option called App Info.
  • After that, click on the app that is not working.
  • Go to Storage and Cache option present among the options.
  • Then, click on Delete data, which will be present just beside delete the cache.

This option generally works in most cases because the app's data might be too much, which creates a lagging in the app. So this might just be the reason why your phone is hanging, or your app is not working, and it is lagging.

OPTION 3: Uninstall and reinstall the app

In case the previous tricks do not work, the next best option you have is to uninstall the app. If there is an option to save the app's data by creating a profile, do so because after you delete the data, you will not get the data back. The option will work best for those apps which do not have any important data of yours stored.

The steps for doing this are:

  • Go to Google Play Store.
  • On the top left, you’ll find three horizontal lines stacked one on the other.
  • Click on that, and select My Apps and Games.
  • Go to the app that is not working and click on it.
  • You’ll find an option that says, Uninstall.
  • Click on that and uninstall the app.

Now go to the Google Play Store search bar and type the name of the same app and install it again.

Your app is ready to work!

OPTION 4: Uninstall updates

Many times the apps which are pre-installed on the phone can’t be uninstalled and reinstalled. Not to worry as we offer a solution for this as well. In case the problem mentioned above is the one you are facing, follow the steps below, and your app might just start working! All you have is to uninstall the recent updates that you have downloaded and go back to the original version of the app. The new updates are often infused with bugs or incomplete performance checks, and hence it causes lagging in your app and shuts it down.

For this, the steps are:

  • Go to Settings.
  • In the Settings, you’ll find an option called Apps and Notifications. Click on it.
  • Under that, you’ll find an option called App Info. Click on it.
  • After that, click on the app that is not working.
  • Go to the Uninstall Update option present among the options.
  • Then, click on it.

OTHERS REASONS WHY YOUR APP ISN’T WORKING

There can be various other reasons why your app isn’t working.

1. many apps update their compatibility and can only work on certain Android versions. In case you have not checked and downloaded your security and system updates, do so. It might just be the reason why your app isn’t working!

Go to Setting  System  Advanced  System Update  Check for update  Download.

2. In recent days, the apps ask for certain permissions to be granted so that they can work smoothly. In case you have not granted a few permissions do so as soon as possible because the app requires some permissions to function smoothly.

Go to Settings Apps and Notifications  Advanced  Permission Manager
