    PubG Vs Garena Free Fire

    PUBG vs. Garena free fire

Krafton, the creator of PUBG, has brought legal action against Garena, Apple, and Google. By releasing the battle royale games Free Fire and Free Fire Max, Garena allegedly plagiarised PUBG’s Battlegrounds. As a result, Krafton is suing Apple and Google for selling the games on their respective app stores. Google was charged by Krafton for hosting YouTube videos that highlight the Free Fire and Free Fire Max gaming platforms. Additionally, Krafton is said to have taken several moves against the disputed battle royale games.

    Copyright infringement case

According to Krafton's accusation of copyright infringement, which The Verge reported, Garena, the creator of Free Fire and Free Fire Max, has been sued by Krafton. PUBG's creator claimed that Garena plagiarised its well-known battle royale game. In the case, Krafton also stated that Apple and Google had made enormous profits from the distribution of the two Free Fire apps and that Garena had made hundreds of millions of dollars from the sales of two games. Both apps are still available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Krafton is also suing Google and Apple

On December 21, Krafton claimed to have taken action against Free Fire and Free Fire Max. In the first, Garena was asked to stop using Free Fire and Free Fire Max right once, including by rescinding the apparent approval of Apple and Google. Garena reportedly objected to doing so. Additionally, the developer of PUBG asked Apple and Google to cease distributing and exploiting the two games on their systems, even though both app stores still have a listing for the games.

Additionally, YouTube was instructed to take down several videos that blatantly infringed Battlegrounds, including the infringing feature-length film. The video-sharing service provided by Google still hosts these videos.

    Revenue statistics

The lawsuit also highlighted Garena's sale of an allegedly PUBG: Battlegrounds-cloning game in Singapore in 2017. While the claims were resolved, according to Krafton, there was no licensing agreement between the two game producers.

According to Sensor Tower statistics, player expenditure on Free Fire reached $1.1 billion in 2021, a 48 percent increase over the previous year. Even though Krafton made $2.98 billion during the same time, there was only a 7% gain from the prior year. The data revealed that Free Fire was catching up to PUBG in popularity and income.
